2024 Scholarship Quilt
This quilt is a queen size in a stunning pattern called "Carpenter's Apprentice" featuring hand-pieced fabrics in multi-hues of black on white, a beautiful and unexpected combination for a quilt. Below are pictures that include its maker, Sharon Heimann. The quilt is machine-stitched except for the binding that is hand-stitched. The lucky winner of this year's quilt was Kathy Weige of Columbus. Thanks to the entire community for your support as this quilt raised about $3000 that will go to scholarships for Columbus High graduating seniors! 2023 Scholarship Quilt
This quilt is a pattern that is a study in extraordinary angles called Foothills Trails. The quilt is a king size with dimensions of 109" by 109". The quilt top is made from hand-dyed cotton batiks. Batik is quite difficult to work with requiring special needles and attention to the quilt-piecing making this quilt more valuable. The quilt is machine-stitched except for the binding that is hand-stitched A few pictures of the quilt are below, one with its maker, Sharon Heimann.
